Who's in for a beautiful run on the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM)? Mary and I did a section of this a few weeks back and were very impressed. The plan is to meet inside Steve's Park Diner (66 Merchant's Row) in Middlebury at 9am and head out from there. I'm shooting for 12 miles, but we can shuttle a car to a midway point for those who want to do less. A couple weeks back it was packed down pretty good in many places with some soft spots in others. You can choose to bring snowshoes if you want; but I'll be running in trail shoes. We can grab some lunch and a beer afterward. If anyone wants to carpool down, say so when you commit to this and we'll figure it out.

    • “ I showed up at the diner at 9:00, but didn't see anyone who looked geared up for a run, so I just did a solo run. Hope to actually "meet up" with folks next time! ”

      “ 11.7 miles of the TAM scouted this morning with Greg (aka Deiter). Cool when the wind blew, but otherwise a nice day on the trails. We ran from the Belden Dam through Wright Park over to Chapman Hill Park (and UP the huge hill) through Means Woods and Battell Woods over through the Jeffery Murdock Nature Preserve and finished up at the Middlebury Golf Course (from Belden Dam to the Golf Course is 10 miles, we added a bit running part of the Class of 97 trail). Overall an excellent day. Afterward, I scouted out another potential running spot in Warren Village - more to come! ”
