Red Rocks

Red Rocks park offers several miles of mellow forested trails, great lake views and post-run swimming - all minutes from downtown Burlington! The park has wide, relatively smooth trails that are a favorite among hikers, runners, and dog-walkers (note: despite signage posted in the park, there are often many off-leash dogs).

The trails are well-loved and heavily used - if you are more comfortable knowing other folks are nearby, this is a great choice. Evenings and weekends are particularly popular.

Check out our posted route (linked below) for a 2.5 mile loop - or double it up for a nice 5 miler! The trails here can be a bit confusing, as there are spurs to nearby condos and neighborhoods - but you are never far from the lot! We recommend running the loop in the same direction at first (clockwise or counterclockwise) to get your bearings.

Post-Run: Take a dip at the swimming beach to cool off during the summer, or head to nearby Switchback, Burlington Beer Company or Zero Gravity for a cold one. City Market, Nomad Coffee, and Pizza 44 are excellent South End choices for a bite.
